Freshers Week


Welcome to the page, which every Fresher should look at! Its great that your coming to Aberystwyth University and to help you settle in and get to know each other and us, we have organised some events. They are all Free and we really would like you to come along, enjoy yourself and make friends. If you want more details of the events listed in the table, scroll down the page.
Meeting locations and times will be added here closer to freshers week, so keep looking and hopefully see you there.

Afternoon; 2 - 4pm Evening
Saturday Welcoming students - Stall on Concourse and Sofa on Sea front BBQ on the Beach; 6:30
Sunday (Church in the Morning) Games on the Grass; 3 - 5pm Church
Monday Stall on Concourse - Come and say Hi. Grub Crawl around local churches; 5:30

Saturday

Welcoming Students: Helping students, stall on the Concourse (Penglais Campus) and a Sofa on the seafront, between 11am and 4pm. Come and say hi, have a chat and find out about the Christian Union. (Stall on Concourse also around Monday to Saturday, during freshers week.

BBQ on the Beach: Come and have some food, meet some other freshers and members of the Christian Union. 6:30pm on Beach, exactly where to be confirmed later.

Sunday

Church: Freshers will be met at various times and places to help guide them down to some of the churches in town for morning services, ask at the Christian Union stall or sofa on Saturday to find out where or contact the CU via the Contact page. Have a look at the Churches in town by going to the Churches page.

Games on the Grass: Games for all you Freshers to join in, next to the Art Centre and Student Union on the grass! 3 - 5pm.

Monday

Stall on Concourse: Come and say Hi, get some info about the CU and details about events we have on, between 11am and 4pm.

Grub Crawl:Join with many others, and do a tour around the local churches. Each Church will give you a bit to eat, until by the end of the evening you have eaten well! Plus you get to see some of the local churches, so hopefully you can find them again and know which one you may want to a service at. Starting at 5;30, locations to be confirmed.

Tuesday

Stall on Concourse: Come and say Hi, get some info about the CU and details about events we have on, between 11am and 4pm.

Football Tournament: Come and join in a football tournament, between 2 - 4pm, location to be confirmed.

Wednesday

Stall on Concourse: Come and say Hi, get some info about the CU and details about events we have on, between 11am and 4pm.

Dance Performance/ Workshop Come and watch a dance performance and then join in a workshop and try yourself. At the Dance Studio in the Arts Centre, starting at 2pm.

Thursday

Stall on Concourse: Come and say Hi, get some info about the CU and details about events we have on, between 11am and 4pm.

Acoustic/ Open mic night: Come and listen in to or perform yourself at The Angel, from 7:30pm. This event has been very popular in the past and this time is even being covered by Aber Live.

Friday

Stall on Concourse: Come and say Hi, get some info about the CU and details about events we have on, between 11am and 4pm.

CU Main Meeting: This is our main weekly meeting, which everyone is welcome too. It starts at 7:30pm and the location will be confirmed later in the summer. This meeting will inform you of everything going on in the week, give you a chance to meet some of the people in the CU. For more information about Friday Meetings click here.

Saturday

Girls and Boys Socials: A time to get to get together, relax, chat and study God's word.



Note for current students

There are prayer meetings between 8 - 9 am Down down in CU houses and up top on Campus in the Chapel. Please come and pray for the weeks events and our oppurtunities to meet freshers.
